Rules for using Swift Host services. Written for Canadian law and everyday business hosting — not a loophole document.
Effective: 14 October 2026 · Last updated: 14 October 2026 · Applies to all Swift Host services
This Acceptable Use Policy (“AUP”) sets out what you may and may not do with Swift Host servers, networks, hosting accounts, and related services. It applies to every customer, reseller, and end user who uses those services.
We host legitimate business and organizational workloads for clients who need Canadian infrastructure and clear rules. We do not operate as an anything-goes platform. If you need a home for adult, high-risk, or legally grey material, Swift Host is not the right host.
By using our services, you agree to this AUP. It works together with your service agreement, order terms, and any managed-service statement of work. If there is a conflict on a specific service, the stricter rule applies.
You must use our services in a way that complies with the laws of Canada and of any province or territory that applies to you or your content. That includes, without limitation:
If Canadian law forbids it, you may not host, store, transmit, distribute, or facilitate it on Swift Host — even if another country treats it differently.
Child sexual abuse material (CSAM), child pornography, and any sexual content involving minors (including fictional depictions where prohibited) are strictly forbidden.
Where we become aware of such material, we will act immediately. That typically includes suspending or terminating service without prior notice, preserving relevant data for investigation where appropriate, and reporting to the Canadian Centre for Child Protection (Cybertip.ca) and law enforcement as required or appropriate under Canadian law. There is no warning period for this category.
Swift Host does not host adult-oriented or sexually explicit content on any service line (shared hosting, VPS, dedicated, cloud, managed apps, email, or storage).
That includes, without limitation:
This is a business decision as well as a risk decision. Even where some adult content may be lawful for adults in Canada, we choose not to carry it. If you are unsure whether a project falls on the wrong side of this rule, ask us in writing before you order.
You may not use Swift Host to host, operate, promote, or support:
Resellers and agencies are responsible for their end customers. If a client of yours violates this AUP on our infrastructure, we treat it as your violation until it is fixed.
You must keep credentials secure, apply reasonable updates on systems you administer (especially where you have root or admin access), and not share access in a way that bypasses our abuse or billing controls.
Compromised sites that send spam or host malware are still your responsibility to clean up promptly. We may suspend service to stop ongoing harm to the network or to third parties while you remediate.
Swift Host decides, acting reasonably, whether conduct violates this AUP. Typical responses:
We may refuse new orders, decline migrations, or require removal of content that falls outside this AUP. Fees already paid are not refundable when we suspend or terminate for AUP breach, except where your written agreement says otherwise or applicable law requires it.
To report a suspected violation involving a Swift Host customer or IP address:
We aim to acknowledge legitimate abuse reports within one business day. Critical reports are escalated immediately.
We may update this AUP as laws, regulators, or platform risk change. The current version will be posted at https://swifthost.ca/acceptable-use-policy with an updated date. Continued use of the services after a change means you accept the revised AUP. Material changes may also be noted by email or in your service communications when practical.

This page is a service policy for customers and the public. It is not legal advice to you about your own business. If you need formal legal advice for your project, speak with a lawyer licensed in your province.
Ask before you migrate. We would rather give a clear no than take down a live site later.
